The Picasso Standard: An Institutional Legacy of Resilience

This is an image of the owner, Preston Robinson.

Genesis
From Survival to Remediation

My path wasn’t forged in a classroom; it was forged in a battle for survival.

A diagnosis of cancer forced me to understand health at its most fundamental level. I learned that resilience isn’t accidental—it is the result of the right environment, the right inputs, and a refusal to accept "surface-level" fixes.

I realized our city is no different. You cannot have a resilient New Orleans with "sick" soil and failing subsurface infrastructure.

This revelation transformed my career from a calling into a 75-year mandate. At Garden Picasso, we have moved beyond "pretty scenery."

We are a lead Environmental Urban Site Remediation firm, treating the land as a living, breathing defense system.

Governance
The Picasso Perpetual Purpose Trust

Garden Picasso is not just a company; it is a mission-first institution governed by the Picasso Perpetual Purpose Trust.

Our Constitution ensures that short-term profit never supersedes our "Full Circle" mandate.

We are built on an Economy of Healing.

Every project we execute is overseen by a Stewardship Committee—composed of engineering experts, community leaders, and graduates of our technical programs—to ensure the "Picasso Standard" remains inviolable for generations to come.

The Social Engine
The Picasso Pathway

Our work extends deep into the fabric of our community. We believe you cannot heal the soil while neglecting the soul of the workforce.

Through our Workforce 100 program, we reserve our entry-level technical roles strictly for justice-involved and unhoused neighbors.

This is the Picasso Pathway: a one-year technical and scholastic covenant that transforms individuals into elite remediation technicians.

By providing living wages, housing stability, and technical mastery, we are solving the city's skilled labor shortage while ending the cycle of recidivism.

Technical Vision

The 75-Year Roadmap

We aren’t designing for next season; we are engineering for the next century.

Our 75-Year Roadmap (2026–2101) is dedicated to transitioning the Gulf Coast from "Landscaping" to Urban Site Restoration.

  • The Metric: We have established GPH (Gallons Absorbed Per Hour) as our primary standard of success.

  • The Goal: To transform blighted urban lots into a decentralized network of Sponge-Villages—flood-mitigation zones that double as transitional housing and ecological hubs.

The 2022 Water Challenge

Advocating for a Drier New Orleans

The 2022 Water Challenge: This submission serves as a historical marker of our transition. It represents our early commitment to solving the city’s water crisis—a commitment that has now evolved into an institutional standard for the entire Gulf Coast.
